Visits & Residential Stays

The Activity Centre offers a wide range of activities for children and adults in a safe environment, under the supervision of qualified instructors, and will work in partnership with your school/college to provide the most appropriate activity package for your pupils/students.

For residential stays, this package can involve a number of the College's other facilities - such as the Golf Centre, Rodway Farm, Equestrian Centre, Animal Management Centre, Forest Skills, Fisheries department - to ensure a varied and valuable experience for all.

Ideal for young people, Cannington Activity Centre will be a great experience for you and your group. The Centre has been designed to develop personal and team building skills whilst increasing confidence and trust - all in a fun way!

Accommodation

We can offer a range of accommodation options. The College has purpose-built accommodation at its Centre in Cannington, there is bunk-house style accommodation in the nearby area, and camping is also an option.

Catering

There are on-site catering facilities and a restaurant, which cater for the needs of a variety of different diets - including religious dietary requirements.

Transport

Whilst on a visit or residential stay at the Activity Centre, the College has its own vehicles in order for your pupils/students to be transported between activities. However, you will need your own transport to and from the Activity Centre from your area of residence.

Visits for primary school pupils

A visit to the Activity Centre will be an exploratory, stimulating and fun day out for primary school children, in safe surroundings, led by our qualified staff team. It's an ideal place to bring pupils for a day outside of their normal learning environment, in order for them to learn new skills, face challenges and to make new friends, integrate and bond as a group.

Visits and residential stays for secondary school pupils

For secondary school age visitors we offer the option of one day visits and residential stays. During a visit to the Centre pupils will work through structured programmes of activity, learning how to trust each other and develop their self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief. These trips are especially useful for developing the skills of disruptive pupils, who will see how their behaviour affects the rest of the group, and see first-hand the consequences of their actions.

Visits and residential stays for college students

For college students we offer the option of one day visits and residential stays. During a visit to the Centre students will work through structured programmes of activity, learning how to trust each other and develop their self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief. The programmes we have developed for these visits are particularly useful for improving leadership and communication skills and for seeing the outcomes of decision making.
